Answers
How long and detailed can my question be?
We have no restriction on the length of tax questions, so your problem can be as long, detailed and complicated as is necessary.
- A detailed answer written in plain English. We always try to provide tax planning advice to help you pay less tax. We also use examples to help explain certain points.
- You will also receive a complimentary copy of our How to Save Tax. This usually costs £19.95 and is crammed full of tax planning tips to help you pay less tax in the current year.

Who will answer my question?
Taxcafe is one of the UK's leading publishers of tax books. We do not, however, provide tax advice ourselves. Your question will be passed on to one of the following highly qualified independent experts who run their own tax advice firms:
Carl Bayley, BSc ACA.
Carl is Taxcafe's Editor and author of some of our most popular tax guides. A regular speaker on tax matters, he was recently invited to talk to over 450 people at the Property Investor Show. Carl is also a regular contributor to TV programmes such as the BBC's It's Your Money programme and national newspaper articles on tax matters. He was recently appointed to the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Lee Hadnum, LLB ACA CTA.
Lee is a rarity among tax advisers having both legal and chartered accountant qualifications. After qualifying a prize winner in the Institute of Chartered Accountants exams, he also went on to become a chartered tax adviser (CTA). Having worked in Ernst & Young's tax department for several years Lee now has his own tax consultancy. He is author of a number of our tax guides and provides personalised advice through our popular Question & Answer Service.

When will I receive my answer?
If you choose to use the express service and order before 12 noon on a working day, you will receive your answer the same day. If you order after 12 noon, you will receive your answer the next working day.
All Tax Questions purchased through the standard service will be answered within 3-5 working days.

The standard Question & Answer service costs just £69.95, or you can opt for our express service at £99.95 if you need your answer in a hurry.

Is it safe to pay online?
We use Worldpay Plc, the UK's leading online payment company to process our online transactions. WorldPay is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland group and uses a combination of both established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data.
How confidential is my information?
We take your confidentiality very seriously. Your question will be sent direct to Nick Braun, the Managing Director of Taxcafe UK Ltd. He will then forward it to one of the independent tax experts to handle your query. Your question will not be passed on to any other persons.
Is this an annual subscription?
No, you are paying for a one-off piece of tax advice from an independent tax expert, who we are pleased to recommend. The tax experts are happy to handle long and complicated questions, with the cost being far lower than that of hiring a tax professional through traditional channels.
What if I want further advice?
A follow up tax advice service is available for just £49.95.
Do you handle tax questions by telephone?
Sorry, the tax experts will only answer written tax questions.
Do you do tax consultations?
Taxcafe is a tax publishing company and does not offer tax advice or tax consultations. We pride ourselves on selling affordable tax advice guides. The independent tax experts who answer tax questions as part of the tax question and answer service may however be able to offer a traditional tax consulting service.
What if I have a problem with my answer?
The tax expert who answers your question will want to make sure that you are satisfied with the answer and you should contact the expert directly if you have any queries. Please note that each tax expert provides the answer to your question in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. Taxcafe itself does not provide tax advice and cannot be liable for any answers provided.
